An object-oriented model with an emphasis on
search and easy internationalization expansion.
Challenge:
Develop a web presence for Cookson Electronics that
allowed its users to quickly locate a solution from
within their vast product line. Cross-promote all related
information throughout the product detail areas.
Result:
An extremely user-friendly solution that allows user to
search by trade name, application, or process. There is
also a site-wide search for users looking to search on
keywords. With a relational database at the backbone
of the site, cross promotion and proving related
information is taken care of behind the scenes.
System highlights include:
- Sophisticated search ability that breaks down the
complex product line into easy to search units
- Ability to order products online
- Internationalization, the site will soon be available in Chinese
and German. With the utilization of object-oriented
programming principals, additional languages can
be added with minimal effort.
